   Cantera is  a strong, malleable natural stone formed byRed Cantera Stone It is an elaborately carved red-stone (cantera) structure that was built between 1730 and 1760 in Zacatecus, Mexico volcanic dust and ash washed into silt beds, and combined with lava and local stone where it is compressed for millions of years.  Porous and lightweight, cantera stone is preferred throughout the ages as a building material for its natural beauty, exquisite color varieties, texture and durability.
   Each particular piece of Cantera stone is hand carved and a true work of art.  No two items are exactly the same.  Using a true cantera stone will give your home or office an extremely warm personal touch not found in the mass-produced items made of concrete or similar materials poured into molds.
