Features and Benefits
Sustainability
Metropolitan Ceramics® ceramic quarry products are one of the longest
lasting flooring products available. In fact, a recent study found
quarry tile to be the best value among competing floor covering products
based specifically on the price and longevity of the product.
Manufactured to be Durable
The extrusion process used to manufacture Metropolitan Ceramics unglazed
ceramic quarry tile is combined with state-of-the art equipment and the
finest raw materials. The result is an unglazed ceramic tile that is
impact, abrasion, slip, and soil resisting.
Extruded & Hard Fired
Metropolitan ceramic products are extruded then hard fired making their
absorption level very low and their durability level very high.
Half Inch Thickness
Manufactured from the finest raw materials, Metropolitan ceramic quarry
tile is more
durable than many other ceramic products. The half inch thickness gives
strength that resist impact and abrasion.
Relieved Edges
Functionally this quality makes our tile less susceptible to chipping.
Aesthetically the relieved edges give a soft, natural look to a finished
installation.
Unglazed Surface
Metropolitan ceramic quarry tile is well suited for high traffic,
multi-use commercial and residential design needs. Our tile exceeds
tough standards in the industry.
Through The Body Color
Unlike some glazed tile and porcelain products, Metropolitan's "through
the body" color will never wear off. As our quarry tiles age they
acquire a natural patina that actually enhances their beauty and
character.
Reduction Fired Character
Metropolitan Ceramics has successfully recreated the conditions that
made naturally fired tile of the past so richly varied in depth of color
and tone. Our Somerset line of ceramic tile products carries this wealth
of character to the installations of today
