Alfa
AlfaLux Ceramiche Spa was acquired by
Walter Ricchetti on 20th December 1975, and he transformed the name of
the pre-existent group into Riwalfa.
In 1985 Riwalfa became Alfa Ceramiche Spa.
In 1988 in order to simplify the organisation, the company was taken
over by the Gruppo Ceramiche Riwal, together with two other brands,
Saime e Lux, becoming the most prestigious brand of the group.
Alfa Ceramiche, does not only benefit from the support of the
production of the plant in Roteglia (the historical one of the Group),
but also from top level products from other plants belonging to the
Group itself.
In 1996, the historical plant in Roteglia (which is the one most closely
connected to the Alfa brand) underwent a deep renovation to bring it up
to a state of the art level from a technological point of view.
The most valuable asset is the highly skilled personnel and thanks
to the many years of work together, it is capable of guaranteeing
technologically advanced (massive and glazed stoneware) products to Alfa
which are aesthetically in line with the market requirements.
To satisfy the growing need of the market in 1996, a plant next to the
one in Roteglia was purchased in order to increase production of the
glazed Stoneware; in this way a potential of more than 6 million square
meters was reached.
Once again this brand showed its ability in investing on innovative
products and became a forerunner of time.
Glazed stoneware in particular the version with a coloured body
represents today a very important part of the AlfaLux Ceramiche sales;
it is appreciated and requested by the market and is exceeding in
technical and aesthetic content the main type of "full body" massive
stoneware.
By looking at some pictures it is possible to go through the
display sections of the ALFALUX Showroom in Castellarano - Reggio
Emilia.
A large red luminous sign with yellow writing can be seen from the road
and it indicates the headquarters of AlfaLux Ceramiche and the entrance
to the Showroom. The Showroom has a modern and linear design but at the
same time it is functional and welcoming. Glass, plants and wood
combined with the company colours red and beige make this an elegant and
luminous area. The display follows a logical route with a crescendo of
the display effect of the products. The products are displayed in a
setting, either in box rooms with wall and floor displays or by using
scenographic panels for the more technical lines. Spot lights light up
when visitor walk by and provide suitable lighting for the tile display.
To complete the Showroom there is a technical work area for customers
and an area with a large table where customers and operators can
comfortably talk and seek the best solutions.
Since the beginning of 2007 Alfalux is the new trademark of the
Gruppo Nuova Riwal, created from the merger between the historical
trademarks Alfa ceramiche and Lux ceramiche;
Nuova Riwal ceramiche has been, nowadays, part of a larger sized
group whose parent company is Casalgrande Padana S.p.A. with
headquarters in Casalgrande di Reggio Emilia.
